If you have an established small shop
located in a rural setting or village anywhere in Namibia that plays an
important role in providing basic food products to your community, you might
just qualify for the Fish-4-Business
Challenge
2016. If you are successful in your application and are chosen as one of the
finalists, we will transform your shop into a branded Fish Shop.
You will also
receive the following investment into your shop through the Fish-4-Business
initiative:
- Installation of a cold room on
your shop premises
- Supply of branded display
fridges for your shop
- An initial consignment of free
frozen and canned horse mackerel delivered on-site
- Shop branding to transform your
shop to a “Fish Shop”
- Specialised business training
and mentorship
How do I apply?
You can ONLY apply for the
Fish-4-Business
Challenge 2016 if you
can tick all the requirements listed below:
- The applicant must be the owner of the
shop
- The shop must be located in a rural area /
village anywhere in Namibia
- The owner of the shop must be engaged in
the running of the business on a fulltime basis
- The shop has to be in existence for at
least one year
- The shop employs at least one person in
addition to the owner
- The shop is a legitimate business
- Business is conducted from a premises owned
by the applicant (shop owner)
- The shop must have access to electricity
and accessible by vehicle
- The shop may not be close to any other fish
shop
- The shop must play an important role in
providing basic food stuffs to the community and not be a shebeen
- The business owner must have some sort of
financial records for the shop in order to determine how successful the business
is run
